Actually, just the opposite...the conservative pecking order is Conservative, Republican and then RINO....as represented by the Conservative, Moderate and Left wing of the republican party in that order....RINO's are far more aligned with moderate Republicans(Moderate Democrats too) than conservatives.

I have never claimed to be a conservative, although many of my political views are much more conservative than GTs..

There is a difference between parroting Rush Limbaugh and expressing a point of view. Alobar and I express our points of view from OUR perspective. GT, on the other hand, expresses OTHER PEOPLES points of view.

Quite frankly "RINO" does fit me, in a literal sense. I registered Republican many, many years ago, when the party was about fair government keeping their nose out of places where it doesn't belong... The party has changed. Gone are some of the great political minds of days past. They have been replaced by bible thumping, divisionist, whackadoodle hypocrites. Hell, when a guy like  John Boehner is the voice of reason for the party, you know the GOP has lost its way. Today I'm a Republican in name only because I refuse to associate myself in any way with the extremists calling themselves "Republicans" today.

I'm in favor of socialized medicine
I'm in favor of the legalization of marijuana
I believe that our entire welfare system needs a complete overhaul
I think that the corporate tax rate should be lowered and at the same time we get rid of all government subsidies and tax credits for corporations.
I think the capital gains tax should remain the same
I believe that the cap on social security income ($110,000) should be eliminated completely. (this move alone ensures the solvency of SS for generations)
I believe that America needs to quit being the worlds savior and we need to start investing in our own infrastructure and people.

Now while the first two points, on the surface, will be called "liberal", they are actually very conservative, fiscally speaking. I'd be happy to elaborate...

This is exactly the type of hypocrisy that I am talking about...

The GOP sets up an anti-Obama messaging campaign, focusing on unemployment in the U.S.... probably a legit criticism  of Obama. Unemployment is still very high and new jobs are being created at a pretty slow rate.

The problem? The calls were outsourced to a call center IN THE PHILIPPINES...

So it turns out we are both a bit right on this one.

The final draft of the constitution and DOI were written on parchment (dried sheepskin), however the drafts for both documents were written  on hemp paper, quite likely from Ben Franklin's hemp paper mill. He likely purchased his raw materials from either George Washington or Thomas Jefferson, both hemp farmers.

There is no denying the industrial significance of hemp in the textile industry. The word "canvass" is rooted from the word cannabis, which played an important role in colonial ship building. Hell, Rudolf Diesel designed his engine to run on hemp oil...

The point is that it is a legitimate crop and if legalized could revitalize the economy, especially here in California.

A true, free market conservative would take issue with the government making such an important cash crop illegal. But then again, you are far from a free market conservative and need the government to tell you what you can and can't manufacture products with. As far as recreational use, marijuana is far safer for human consumption than alcohol and tobacco, not to mention its proven medicinal value.

Basically, the criminalization of marijuana is criminal.

We currently spend $835 billion annually on medicare, which covers approximately half the population of the U.S. Currently Americans spend approximately $2 trillion annually on healthcare. By simply opening up medicare to 100% of the population, we would save $330 billion a year. That is without any reforms to the current system.

According to data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the United States spends two-and-a-half times more than the OECD average, and yet ranks with Turkey and Mexico as the only OECD countries without universal health coverage.

What does that mean? It means we are already paying for universal healthcare, we just aren't getting it. A true fiscal conservative should be OUTRAGED by the cost/benefit of our current healthcare system.

Where did I say "the single payor portion of our healthcare system is a mess".

You simply can't read.

What I said is that we are paying TWO AND A HALF TIMES AS MUCH for our healthcare than countries that already have universal healthcare, yet we are not getting universal healthcare.

What I am saying is that Americans are paying enough to have universal healthcare AND pay for universal healthcare for Canada and Mexico... and still have money leftover.

What I am saying is that we are paying for a Mercedes and taking delivery of a Hyundai and not complaining.

What I am saying is that a true fiscal conservative would be OUTRAGED by the cost/benefit of our current healthcare system and if you look at who's pumping the dollars into defending it, it is insurance and pharmaceutical companies. You are being spoon fed bullshiite by the heaping tablespoon when you say things like "ours is the best healthcare system in the world" and "just look at how bad it is in Canada". It's NOT the best system in the world, it is just the most expensive... by a long shot and while Canadian healthcare certainly has its issues, you won't find people dying because they can't afford to see a doctor...
